Ban reason: “Submitting a false report to the moderators to frame a user and have him banned”.
[Declaration:] I understand that if I receive* another infraction after my unban, I may be banned again permanently with no chance of appeal.*
Background: I submitted genuine resources regarding an incident where a user sent me a DM advert to another Discord server. (See resources attached, proving the incident in question did in fact take place and is therefore, my report was indeed genuine).
Notes: The next day — on 26 March at exactly Zulu Time / UTC 1500 — I found myself banned for “false reporting” with a screenshot made via. “Snip & Sketch” (a Snipping Tool application).
As soon as I found I was banned, I consulted a junior member of staff, by the name of “OneHappyBoy,” regarding the situation (UTC 1508). He understood the situation and saw no wrongdoing in my actions in reporting this user, and therefore suggested that I appeal my ban on the grounds that submitting genuine evidence in relation to an incident, is not “false reporting [with intent to frame] a user”. I also understand that he raised the situation to the admins that a ban, with no genuine reason and no evidence, may have occurred.
If someone was sent to prison, based on no legitimate grounds, no evidence of such “false reporting” and lies: that would end up with that same Judge; all Police officers and Police Detectives and the Custody Sergeant involved would be found guilty of “perjury” and “false imprisonment” (respectively, being crimes in themselves) from the point of arrest, the relevant Police supervisors questioned, and the initial “false reporting” charges dropped.
Please also 1) send me with any evidence that ban was warranted following my report of another user DM advertising, and 2) provide me with wisdom as to why genuine reports should be taken as malicious. I would also like to know the outcome regarding the user I was “framing”.
If you really need, you can have a member of staff call me at an agreed time and I'll LIVE a Screen Share the chat with the user I reported for DM advertising.
On the whole, I really believe that the English server's Discord community is one of the best out there for non-natives to speak to natives (of which I am a native). I feel that it would be a great shame for me to never have access to the server again, especially when a member gets banned for reporting another member for breaking the rules.
